Founder of Bruce Lee Foundation
Linda Lee Cadwell ( home : Linda Emery) was born on March 21, 1945, in Everett, Washington, USA. She was the wife of Bruce Lee, the mother of Brandon and Shannon Lee, and, after her husband's death, one of the key figures responsible for perpetuating and preserving the Bruce Lee legend.
Linda met Bruce Lee in 1963 while she was a student and enrolled in his kung fu classes in Seattle. Their relationship quickly blossomed into a deep love. Linda and Bruce Lee were married in 1964 and remained married until Bruce's death in 1973. Linda first learned of Bruce Lee as a passionate philosopher who gave lectures on Chinese philosophy at Garfield High School in Seattle in 1963. Linda became one of Bruce's students studying Jun Fan Gung Fu. Bruce and Linda lived in Oakland, where their son Brandon was born, Los Angeles, where Shannon made her debut, and later in Hong Kong. Today, Linda lives happily in Idaho.
After Bruce Lee's death, Linda remarried and adopted the surname Cadwell. After the tragic death of her son Brandon in 1993, she consciously withdrew from public life, handing over the role of guardian of Bruce Lee's legacy to her daughter Shannon. Linda Lee Cadwell is not just "Bruce Lee's wife." She is a witness to his journey, a partner in the fight for his dreams, a mother of two children who have also made cultural history, and a woman who has learned to live with loss without losing her dignity or truth.
